Red River Hog

Scientific Name: Potamochoerus porcus

Range: Western Africa

Habitat: Forest

Food: Roots, tubers, plants, insects, lizards

Red river hogs are primarily nocturnal and spend most of their active time searching for food. They use their large muzzle to root through soil. They’re also known to follow chimpanzees in search of dropped fruit.
